I'm Alex Kan. This is my personal website, alexkan.xyz, where I share software projects and a few of my interests. On GitHub I publish code as [akan72](https://github.com/akan72). The site brings together links to that work, writing about my interests, and ways to find my public profiles.

My [projects](https://alexkan.xyz/projects) include istheldown.com, a real-time map of NYC-area transit using official feeds, and mingus, a visualization of my music listening history since 2014. I also maintain dotfiles for tools such as Neovim and tmux. The code for this website is available in the [xyz repository](https://github.com/akan72/xyz): it uses Rust, WebAssembly, and Cloudflare Workers, with images stored in R2.

My interests include black metal, urbanism, Vim, and privacy; the [Writing](https://alexkan.xyz/writing/gm) page has the full list. For questions about my work, corrections to a page, or professional conversations, see [Contact](https://alexkan.xyz/contact). This is a personal project collection, and the descriptions here should be read in that context.
